Research - Main Task Rough Cut Audience Feedback

Below is the link to the video of the audience feedback that I received on 7th March. This was filmed after showing the group a rough cut of the first few scenes.




Good things about the clip

1. Imaginative camera angles.
2. Order of clips is edited together well.
3. Good music choice and placement.
4. Titles positioned very well.
5. Shots of feet are very interesting and imaginative.
6. Lots of interior shots, looking out.
7. Various different people answering the door, and the 'cut up' style is very interesting to watch.
8. Mise-en-scène is very believable.
9. Joke at the beginning is comical.
10. Audience can relate to the concept.

Things to look at

1. Look at typeface of titles - not a big issue, but may look better in another typeface. Maybe test out some alternatives with the group?
2. Titles need to follow conventions - blog post to show similarities?
3. Final title seems closer to a TV Drama, rather than a feature film.
4. The shot with the doorbell doesn't seem 'real' enough - maybe cut the end off of the clip?
5. Timing needs to be looked at, already 2 minutes long and still have scenes to add. I'll create the whole opening in the way that I want, then I will go back and slowly cut away clips until it is at a suitable time to submit to the board.
